Bioware has released a second teaser trailer for an unannounced mystery project, giving gamers another sneak peek at the Mass Effect and Dragon Age developer's upcoming new IP. Entitled "Spark", the video shows a man sketching... something on a napkin in a cafe, before his phone starts shooting electricity and setting the whole place on fire.
This latest trailer is the second video in Bioware's You've Been Chosen teaser campaign, which began with "nightmare". The original video was sent to a small group of Bioware fans by email, with the text "You've been Chosen" and a link to the youve-been-chosen.com website. It's rather sparse at the moment, with just a small amount of text not giving much away: "The time is near. They are watching. Your power is rising. Cologne, Germany. You've Been Chosen." Cologne is the location of Gamescomm, one of the biggest games shows in Europe, which is set to take place in two weeks' time.
According to Eurogamer , a filename in the original email (" ShadowRealms_Teaser_video.jpg") fits in with a trademark filed by Bioware's publisher EA back in February - a day after developer Failbetter Games revealed it was working on an unannounced project with Bioware. Failbetter's last game, Fallen London, was a browser-based text adventure with gothic and steam punk influences.
The videos could also be tied to an alternate reality game , with flyers handed out at last week's San Diego Comic Con asking for help finding a missing person called Henna Caplin and directions to a website for the fictional Woods Watson institute of higher learning . It's all very secretive and mysterious, leaving us in the dark as to what exactly to expect from an official reveal.
We expect to find out exactly what Bioware is working on when Gamescomm kicks off on the 13th of August.
